To Spay/Neuter or Not to Spay/Neuter
I prefer to sell my puppies to pet homes, therefore I sell them either already spayed/neutered or with a spay/neuter contract. I have had many people question the purpose of spaying/neutering my pups.
Here is a link on early spaying/neutering & the benefits of the procedures.

Basically, the benefits are:
for males: prevention of testicular cancer or tumors, infections, & hernias.
for females: prevents breast cancer, mammory tumors, ovarian cancer, cysts & infections, uterine tumors.
And now the obvious... The female will not have a heat cycle that lasts about 3 weeks. And she would need to be away from all intact dogs. The male usually will not mark his spot around the house. He usually won't be seeking in heat females & trying to get to them.
And one more benefit....There won't be an accidental mating between dogs of any breed & their pups possibly ending up in a shelter.
There's more to breeding dogs then putting 2 dogs together. Especially in this economy you really have to do your homework & know what you are doing. And most important you have to have the dollars it takes to properly care for the mom & pups. You really need to love and enjoy what you are doing as well because it ain't easy! Many things can happen between mating & birth & even after. Mom could lose a litter, need a C-section, abandon her pups. The pups may need help & need to be bottle fed day & night every 2 hours or so. You have to wean the pups & make sure they have enough proper food. Worm them, get their shots, etc.
So, please understand my thoughts on spaying/neutering my pups. My dogs & puppies are precious to me & I am responsible for them. I am responsible for bringing them into this world & want to do the best for them. I want the best possible homes for them where they will be loved for their lifetime. And not tossed from family to family or even worse & end up in a shelter. You may have seen it on my other pages, I am responsible for them even after they go home... If you can't take care of them I will be here for them & love them till they find their new home. This is not just a hobby for me, but a passion! I love my dogs & pups!
